The Triangle Artists' Workshop Program is an intense two-week studio session for an international group of 25-30 professional visual artists. The workshop's mission is to create an environment designed to maximize exchange, stimulate new ideas and encourage experimentation.
Artists are provided with studios, meals and housing at no additional cost. Accepted participants are asked to give a $100 acceptance fee. Artists will have access to a woodshop, technical support, and possibly darkroom and printshop access. Artists are responsible for all other expenses, including the costs of travel and materials. Accepted particpants with a demonstrated need, can apply for limited travel scholarships. The workshop culminates in an Open Studio exhibition, free and open to the general public. During the workshop, artists will receive organized studio visits from critics, writers and curators, and two organized panel discussions.

Dates: The workshop takes place every 2 years and the upcoming one will be Fall 2008.

Eligibilty:
Applicant must be a professional artist and not be enrolled in any degree programs. Artist's media may include painting, sculpture, digital art, mixed media, photography, and film and video. Applicants must be 18 years or older. International applicants are welcome.
Review Process:
A selection panel comrpised of artists, curators, independent curators and representatives of the Board of Directors reviews the applications. Selections are based upon the artist's work, and potential ability to make the most of his or her time during the workshop. In addition, the panelists will consider project feasibility within the two weeks period. Artists must be prepared to spend the majority of their time in the studio.
Application Deadline:
February 15th, 2008. Applications postmarked or received after the deadline will not be accepted. Do not send applications via registered mail, FedEx, or UPS. No one will be present to sign for it.
Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Application Instructions
To be considered, applications must have, in the following order:
1. Visual Material
Please submit either CD-ROM or video. Do not send slides or original artwork.
10 images on CD-ROM (no slides)
- Images should be of work made within the last five years
- file format: GIF, JPG, or TIFF
- File size: no loarger than 1MB. Image size: 1000 pixels max. Image res: 72dpi.
- Please label images: LastnameFirstinitial_image number.
- (example: SmithJ_01, SmithJ_02, etc.)
or
Video DVD (no VHS)
- Video clip must be labeled with the artist?s name, title of work, and running time
- Video should be cued to appropriate segment for review
- Segment should not exceed 10 minutes
- Please do not submit video documenting artistic process or still artwork.
2. Image List
- Numbers on image list should correspond with numbers on CDRom
- Include title, date completed, dimensions, medium, and if necessary, a brief description
- For Video, include, title, date and brief description (250 words or less)
3. Resume
Please include educational and exhibition background.
4. Artists Statement
Briefly describe your work and recent projects.
5. Statement of Objectives
Please give your reasons for applying and what you expect to achieve during these two weeks.
